I am constantly amazed at what people spend on their weekly shop ! I make it a rule that at least
half of everything I buy is either an offer, a 2 for 1 or low date sale. The secret is to have a big chest freezer and keep it full OF BARGAINS !
Each super market has it discounting time !
Asda near us ( NO I am not saying which !) is good for wednesday evening. Morrisons sunday 3pm and early mornings. Lidl always worth a look and some
amazing deals in Netto... http://www.netto.co.uk/
asda have an great chinese meal for 2 for £3 in an
ordinary yellow bag (can remember when we last had a chinese or indian take away at £12 for two.)
Produce sell by dates are piffle if it smell off it is, if not cook it well !
Watch out for good road kill Pheasants plentiful at
this time of year.
I never ate so much steak as when the BSE scare was on half price or less.... a small chest freezer
rammed full of meat !
We never know what we are having for Xmas lunch until the xmas eve bargin scum ;)

Now that I'm shopping around for the best bargains I find it a real buzz. So far I've found the following:

Sainsburys: Best for cheap squash (18p), deodorant (32p), 3 for 2 not from concentrate juice.

Lidl: Best for veg - quality & price by far the best. Shower Gel 17p, frozen fish & cured meats.

Aldi: Best for fresh fish, cured meats, general household goods - I bought 5 x 25 eye make remover pads for just over a £1. Veg not as good as Lidl, but generally a nicer shopping experience.

Now that I've shopped around and found the best buys, I'd be more than happy to drive around all 3 and get the pick of the bunch.

Lidl's fruit and veg are very good, that's for sure. It is now the time of anti-superstores, where just as in the murky past, you have to go from shop to shop getting your food.

It's not to do it as the shops don't do it anymore, but you have to find the best deal.
